How long is one day hire?

Currently - “One day hire” on SUP’s and KAYAKS - delivery to you, the evening before your hire day, between 5-9pm and pick up the morning after your last day of hire, between 9.30am-11am. This is for two reasons -

  • COVID. We need the time in the day to clean and prepare this equipment so that it is safe for you and the next person to use.

  • An added benefit - customers can experience the use of some of our equipment for a full day, at their leisure rather than rushing home to return it.

All other one day hire equipment is for eight hours and runs from time off drop off to pick up.

can i return the equipment earlier, say on the evening of my hire day?

Yes. If you are leaving the area to return home the next day or you are local then you can return equipment earlier as long as this is pre arranged with us and no later than 9pm on the hire day. Please note that any early return on the day of hire will not be discounted.

Am I insured to use the equipment?

No. You are not insured unless you have your own public liability insurance. Renter takes full responsibility of their actions and any consequences during use of equipment hired from doah.co.uk. All equipment is to be checked by the renter prior to use. If the renter believes that they will not be safe due to the equipment being in poor condition then they should choose not to rent the item. Please read the full ‘rental contract’ here and ‘release of liability waiver’ here which you will need to sign before participation in, individual or group hire.

how do i pay for equipment hire?

You can pay by either:

  • Sum Up card Payment (credit or debit Card)

  • We can send you a payment link to pay online

  • You can Pay by PayPal

  • Bank Transfer.

  • In person using card reader.

Can I cancel my hire if I don’t think the weather is going to be nice or if i cant make my booking for personal reasons?

Bookings outside 48 hours.

We have developed our terms of service with the customer in mind.

Doah accepts a £20.00 booking fee (non refundable) outside the 48 hour period prior to your booking to protect you due to possible adverse weather conditions predicted on your hire day or changes to your personal circumstances.

If you decide you do not want to continue with your booking for whatever reason, you can cancel with no fees 48 hours prior to your booking. However, we will retain your booking fee.

CUSTOMERS ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE AN ASSESSMENT OF THE WEATHER 48 HOURS PRIOR TO HIRE COMMENCING. This is why we will retain 50% of total hire costs if you decide to cancel your booking within the 48 hours prior to hire commencing with no valid reason. i.e. not an emergency.

Valid reasons would include such things as “A family emergency” “Injury” or “A need to return home from holiday for an emergency”

We have also now included the ‘PING’ pandemic. Being alerted by NHS app for exposure to COVID. and being directed to self isolate.

How do i make a booking with doah

  1. Read the website before contacting us please! You should find all of the information you require to choose your equipment. Otherwise we will be happy to answer any further questions.

  2. Contact us, preferably through (messenger, available through the website) or WhatsApp with your enquiry regarding availability of equipment on your chosen day.

  3. Tell us - What you would like to hire, where you are staying if not local, how many people using the equipment, for how long and any additional accessories required.

  4. We will get back to you as soon as possible to let you know availability and cost.
