Outdoor Equipment Hire – Terms and Conditions of Service

The Terms and Conditions contain important information. It is essential that you carefully read and understand them.

1. OWNERSHIP

All rental items are the property of doah.co.uk. Full right, title and ownership of the equipment will be retained at all times with doah.co.uk.

2. RENTAL PERIOD

doah.co.uk agrees to have the item(s) in good condition, ready for drop off at the agreed date, time, and location. Renter is responsible for requesting any changes or extensions to the rental period by phone or email as soon as possible. Any extension of the stated rental period not discussed with doah.co.uk will result in additional charges to Renter*. If the early return of rental items is requested by the renter, no credit will be given for unused hours or days.

Currently - “One day hire” with SUP’s AND KAYAKS runs from - delivery to you, the evening before your hire day, between 5-9pm and pick up the morning after your last day of hire, between 9.30am-12pm. We can collect the evening of your hire day if this is more convenient. See FAQ’s for further information. All other equipment hire periods will be for 8 hours from time of drop off to collection unless otherwise stated or agreed.

*Equipment returned late without agreement will incur the standard daily hire rate for the equipment plus £60.00 per day when returned after the agreed upon return time/date unless otherwise arranged with doah.co.uk

3. BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS

BOOKING WITHIN 48 HOURS OF YOUR HIRE DATE/TIME

Full payment is required at point of booking if confirmed within 48 hours of the date/time to commence. 50% of this fee will be retained as (booking fee) if you cancel your booking within the 48 hour period prior to you hire date/time unless reasons are considered an emergency..in which case you can request a full refund. Customers are expected to have made a 48 hr assessment of the forecasted weather for their hire day prior to making their Bookings.

booking OUTSIDE OF THE 48 HOUR NOTICE PERIOD

A £20.00 booking fee is payable at point of booking if your Date/Time of hire is outside the 48 hour period. This is non refundable if you decide to cancel your booking at any time for any reason.

This system has been chosen to allow the customer to reserve equipment for their preferred date of hire with minimum cost. It also helps cover our time in organizing your booking.

You will be contacted within the 48 hours prior to you hire date/time to confirm you wish to continue with your hire based on YOUR assessment of the forecasted weather. You will then be directed to complete the remainder of your payment to DOAH.

Changes in bookings for personal / emergency situations will be considered to qualify for a full refund minus booking fee if required within the 48 hr. period prior to your hire. Alternatively, a credit facility is also available if you choose to re book at no further cost to you.

Payments can be made through any messaging services using SumUp (credit or debit cards) or we can send you bank transfer information.

Renter shall pay rental amount for the entire Rental Period on each article of equipment named in the Choice of Equipment available, at the rate therein stipulated.

Your card details will be retained for obvious security purposes and deleted following the return of our equipment - damage free.

We do not accept responsibility for the weather during your hire period and no refunds will be given prior to your hire within the 48 hours notice or during your hire period due to acts of nature. PLEASE CHECK THE WEATHER FORCAST PRIOR TO COMPLETING FULL PAYMENMT.

4. DELIVERY AND PICK UP

We aim to deliver hire equipment to your accommodation or the previously agreed destination including and only within the areas of - Weymouth, Dorchester and Portland. Any rental outside this area and within Dorset can either be collected from doah or delivered at extra cost which can be discussed with doah. doah.co.uk would prefer, with your agreement to deliver the SUP, kayak and scooters the evening before your rental date though this is flexible depending on your needs and our availability. The SUP hire equipment can then be collected the morning after your hire day at a pre arranged time.

5. INSPECTION

Renter has examined the rental items and found all items to be in good condition at the time of delivery, and agrees to return all items in the same condition as received (normal use expected).

6. SUBLEASING PROHIBITED

Customer understands and agrees that any subleasing or re-letting of rental equipment is prohibited and that any such sublease or re-letting shall immediately cause termination of this contract.

7. USE OF EQUIPMENT

Renter agrees that the use of the equipment carries with it dangers and risk of injury and the Renter agrees to accept all dangers and risk. The owner, doah.co.uk accepts no responsibility for the injury to the renter or to any member of the public during use of any equipment hired from doah.co.uk. The equipment shall not be used by anyone other than the Renter without the expressed permission of doah.co.uk. You will be asked to sign a (release of liability) waiver prior to using the hire equipment.

The Renter agrees to operate, maintain and store the equipment strictly in accordance with any  instruction provided by doah.co.uk, with due care and diligence, only for its intended use and in accordance with any manufacturer`s instructions and recommendations whether supplied or posted on the equipment as to the operations, maintenance and storage thereof.

Renter agrees to use all item(s) as intended by the manufacturer, comply with manufacturer’s instructions, and not exceed weight, age or other limits established by the manufacturer.

8. DAMAGES

In addition to charges incurred for the rental period, Renter will be charged for all costs associated with the repair, replacement, or cleaning of item(s) that are returned damaged, missing parts (including instruction manuals), or are returned  in exceptionally dirty, stained condition. In the event any item(s) are returned in a condition that renders the item(s) unsuitable to be rented (at the sole discretion of doah.co.uk ) Renter will be obligated to purchase the item(s) and will be charged for the replacement cost of the item(s) plus any related delivery charges, in addition to charges incurred for the rental period.

9. LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS

Any item(s) not returned by the Renter for any reason at the end of the agreed pick-up time will be charged to Renters credit or debit card at the replacement cost of the item(s) in addition to charges incurred for the rental period @

Paddle boards: £500

Kayaks:£500

Scooters: £200

All Kites: £400

10. SECURITY DEPOSIT

Credit /debit card details are required as security and will be returned / deleted at the completion of the hire. If the customer prefers not to leave his/her credit/debit card details, doah.co.uk will accept a cash deposit of £400 for any of the Kites, £500 per SUP and £200 per Scooter. The deposit will be refunded if the rented equipment is returned in the same conditions it was procured.

If hired equipment is not returned to the hirer as agreed then the full amount retail cost along with any deposit will be debited from your account as previously mentioned in section 9 and the police authorities will be informed.

We ask you to respect our hire equipment while it is in your possession. The equipment must be treated with care. Please return all equipment in good condition and report any problems you had, damage caused and/or any repairs needed.

We take pride in our gear and hope you will enjoy and appreciate the value of our top of the line equipment. Please remember that the equipment you are hiring is our livelihood.

11. CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand you may need to change your rentals, possibly at short notice due to an emergency.

All valid cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to hire date/time to receive any refunds as mentioned in section 3.

We do not accept responsibility for the weather during your hire period and no refunds will be given 48 hours prior to your hire date/time or during your hire period. We all enjoy activities in the sun though overcast weather, light rain and a drop in temperature over the spring, summer months will not be accepted as a valid reason for cancellation. We will be happy to re - book your activity on another date if the weather is deemed unsafe by both parties or unsuitable by yourselves outside the 48 hr period. We understand that the word “unsafe” is subjective’ though Doah will cancel your booking if we feel you are at any risk and have not made an accurate assessment of the weather conditions during your hire period.

Please tell us if it becomes necessary to cancel your booking at the earliest possible time. Preferably with 48 hours notice.
